His email promotion, on-line video, and text informing procedure additionally grabbed the eye of the delicate crowd and purchasers. As Monte Lutz put it: Barack Obama won the administration in an avalanche triumph (by an edge of almost 200 constituent votes and 8.5 million famous votes) by changing over regular individuals into connected and engaged volunteers, benefactors and backers through informal communities, email promotion, text informing and online video. Gran Torino and Race Relations and Ethics Essay

Gran Torino and Race Relations and Ethics - Essay Example The film has things to instruct about morals to individuals on the planet. Bigotry is still particularly an issue in today’s world(Bonilla, 2010), and Walt was as prejudice as anyone could be. He called the nearby neighbors â€Å"gooks,† considerably after he came to cherish them and secure them. He considered his hair stylist a â€Å"Dago† and â€Å"Italian Prick.† It was evident that he was a man who had a great deal of awful emotions in his heart about individuals who are of various races. He was, maybe, delegate of numerous individuals who consider individuals to be various races as being some way or another â€Å"other.† These individuals from Laos, who live nearby, were individuals that Walt obviously felt were underneath him from the earliest starting point of the film. Notwithstanding, Walt changed over the span of the film, and, soon, he was encouraging Thao and Sue. Walt made a special effort to bond with youthful Thao, giving him the general tour of carpentry, when he made sense of that Thao had an enthusiasm for carpentry and apparatuses, and ensuring that Thao got the opportunity to meet the hair stylist and skill to banter with other men in a manner that would be worthy in America. At the point when Sue was assaulted by certain men who were family members of Thao and Sue, Walt got defensive of her and went to go up against the men. Truth be told, all through the film, Walt goes to the guide and insurance of these neighbors. It was plausible that Walt could have carried on with his life in an isolated manner, and avoided the method of the group individuals who were bothering his nearby neighbors.... What befalls our sibling or our sister is what befalls us, and we need to ensure that we do everything that we can to help the individuals who are mistreated. Walt took in this exercise, despite the fact that he by and by had affections for the Hmong that were not all that complimenting. There was some conceivable sign that Walt was additionally vindicating himself for things that occurred during the Korean War †he suggested that he slaughtered some Korean men despite the fact that he wasn’t compelled to do as such. Along these lines, this may have additionally given him his feeling of morals also. My very own emotions about what occurred during the film was to some degree blended. While I comprehended the requirement for Walt to do what he did in the film, it was additionally hard to see. Indeed, the group individuals were hassling the group of Sue and Thao, and, truly, the dark men were irritating Sue and there was the particular chance that they were going to assault h er. Along these lines, it might be said, what Walt wound up doing toward the finish of the film was amazingly defended. Truth be told, he didn’t truly do anything by any means, with the exception of remain outside the place of the pack individuals and imagine that he had a weapon on him. Taking into account that he had indicated the group individuals before that he approached these kinds of weapons, it was sensible for the posse individuals to accept this was as yet the case, and that he, truth be told, was pressing warmth when he went to visit the young men. Another point is likely the most significant point to make about the film †the film depicts a general public that is partially blind, at long last. The outside of the individuals in the film was that everyone is isolated and that Walt was someone who didn’t need anything to do with

Cyberbullying and Internet - Free Essay Example

Many people around the world now have access to the internet. Teenagers use the internet for many reasons such as socializing, education, and to maintain personal and professional relationships. However, some teenagers misuse the internet for wrong reasons such as cyberbullying and racisms through social media. Teenagers should only be allowed to use social media only if they are using it the appropriate reasons. Cyberbullying and racisms happen even to this day because of immature behaviors that teenagers do not realized could cause an effect. There should be a limitation with social media to prevent cyberbullying and racisms. Social media is a bad influence for teenagers. What is social media? Websites and applications that enable users to create and share content or to participate in social networking is known as social media. However, social media is being used in ways that shape world culture, education and more. Teenagers are often harassing each other through the media. Phoebe prince hanged herself because girls in her school reportedly called her a â€Å"whore† and a â€Å"bitch† viciously harassing her in person and on Facebook (Holladay 1). If you are not careful, unscrupulous people can target you for cyber bullying and harassment on social sites. By partaking in social networking sites, you are opening yourself up to cyberbullying, lack of productivity, mental health issues and lower grade. Even though there might be several good people out there, there are lots of bad people as well. There are also chances that someone could go online and post an inappropriate picture of him or her that is taken out of context. What might seem innocent enough soon becomes the focus of everyone’s jokes and harassment toward the person. You cannot control what other people post online. Normani Kordei, a member of the girl group on the rise of Fifth Harmony wrote, â€Å"I’ve not just been cyber bullied, I’ve been racially cyber bullied with tweets and pictures so horrific and racially charged that I can’t subject myself any longer to the hate† (Hess 1). Racists used inappropriate words and pictures to insult her. Social media has become the easiest platform to insult or harass someone. Teenagers do not take cyberbully seriously. Cyberbully is the negative use of technology to harass, humiliate, and threaten people. Life project found that 26% of teens have been harass through their mobile phone either by calls or text messages. Phoebes reasons for taking her own life were complicated, she struggled with depression and had even attempted suicide once before (Holladay 4). Social Media makes bullying easier for those who are afraid to face to face bully. Lots of teenagers bully their friends by making fake social media account or emails which is easier rather than in person. Also, the adolescent is also a transitional phase where teenagers become vulnerable and have to deal with emotional and physical changes. At this phase it’s hard to deal with what is right and what is wrong. Most of the children do it for fun and relaxation. Teenagers think they can be anonymous on what they do on the internet. Cell phone has been banned in 69% of today’s classrooms. The reason is obvious, students will misuse them to cheat, use textese in place of Standard English, cyberbullying and sexting (Thomas and McGee19). Due to the excess use of social media grades of teens are dropping down. Teenagers have admit being using social media during homework reduces the quality of their work. The students who used social media while studying scored lower on tests. Most of the students are found spending time on scrolling through the memes and gifs rather than studying and doing homework. Teachers of classroom fears that cell phones may make it easier for students to engage in certain inappropriate behaviors (Thomas and McGee). Majority of the posts are extremely insignificant and unimportant to our world. Social media is a negative impact for teenagers. Hess stated on her article the â€Å"Ghostbusters† star Jones temporarily quit twitter after weathering a deluge of racist abuse (1). There racist abusers are teenager’s fandom of the certain bands group. Social media has teenagers spending countless hours sitting in front of a screen scrolling through other’s people’s lives instead of being productive. Zayn Malik, a member of one direction was being threaten with death and slurs like â€Å"terrorist† from the so called fans (Thomas and M cGee 2). This comments that teenagers make are so ridiculous. Racisms is not right, and it is never right to call other names. Yet, no actions have been taken with issues like this through social media. Sexting has become common among teenagers. One in five teens have reported sending a nude or seminude photo of themselves to someone in text message (Thomas and McGee 21). The average teenager spends a minimum of 2 hours and 20 minutes on social media every day. One in five teens have reported sending a nude or seminude photo of themselves to someone in a text message (Thomas and McGee 21). The use of emoji has also become the new trend of cyber bullying. Emoji’s of middle finger, gun, children face with bandages and many other can be used for bullying (Froeschle 383). Teenagers do not know the impact of what they post or send. At some point someone will search for your name and what shows up can sink your reputation. Teenagers must know they are making a choice every time they engage with social media. Slangs words are used everywhere because teenagers think using slang words is easy. Many people, educators included, believe that text ease is destroying the student’s ability to write which can affect students writing skills. Social media has teenagers spending countless hours sitting in front of a screen scrolling through other peoples lives. When teenager sees a picture of someone that has passed away on Facebook, instead of calling and asking, they just type â€Å"RIP† and a crying emoji.

Research on Cloud Computing-Free-Samples-Myassignmenthelp.com

Question: Write a Reflective Journal on Business Research. Answer: Introduction In order to review the progress of my learning process I had to evaluate the research I conducted for receiving the intended results. My research was the advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing. The contemporary functions and issues of cloud computing have been explored through raising the questions related to the both the advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing. I as a researcher chose the definite set of questions for dual reasons. Firstly I wanted to analyze the progress and changes in the field of cloud computing and secondly exploring the organizations that are investing in the cloud computing. I had prepared certain research questions where the organizations acceptance of the new system has also been given importance. Discussion While preparing the research outline my principle objectives that I considered were required factors for this innovative technology, identification of the benefits of such computing and issues that the organizations may experience during the execution. The research also explored how much resistance can the system develop and in what areas and should the companies consider those before implementation. However after the initial analysis the main objective that I focused most on is that the reasons for which cloud computing is getting so popular and accepted among the organizations. I did a long literature review in order to analyze the available literature dealing with the use and result of cloud computing in the organizational operations. I found that many researchers and experts have developed various literature that clearly highlights many practical examples and the scope of the system. Also during the hypothesis based research analysis I found that for a broader scope of research the data sampling should include large enough and should include diverse range of organizational operations. In the literature reviewing process I discovered that cloud computing is capable of assisting in installing and using a third party server for the organizational progress and communication. I also realized a primary reason for the popularity of cloud computing are its capability of storing, sharing, networking and other several computing facilities. From any place the digital data can be stored through the cloud computing. The research on various organizational use of cloud computing reveals that cloud computing I used by Google as a software hosting platform. Other significant examples I found through the investigation are Microsofts online office cloud and Apple I. Another advantage is that the consumers can access it through the demand based self service. The brad access of the system offers this opportunity to all organizations irrespective of their size or client interface. Cloud computing offers more facilities that attracting the consumers to acquire more of this service. The promotion and awareness of this system is not yet so wide so it is not possible for me to say if this model is going to expand greatly in coming few years. The advantages have drawn attention of the organizations successfully as they are investing lot of money for the expansion and innovation of the service. I also found that the cloud computing service is compatible and flexible that the organizations can carry forward in their journey towards sustainable business performance. The smaller computing devices like mobiles or tablets are capable of using the cloud computing services more effectively. The resources that have been pooled through cloud computing can be accessed by multiple clients without any problem. I have found that many researchers have highlighted the security risk as a major disadvantage of the cloud computing system. Other disadvantage is that the users must have access to constant high speed internet, which is not easy for many organizations. However I have found that only few texts have explored the disadvantages successfully so a lot more research and investigation are needed for exploring the disadvantages. I have applied certain research design like descriptive research and qualitative methods to complete the research. The explanatory research helped to establish a relationship among the variables through the description of the research findings. The qualitative analysis helped me to highlight cloud computings underlying issues. The necessary data for the sampling have been collected from one hundred respondents as I conducted direct interviews and applied my observations. For the primary sources of data I followed the aforementioned process and for the secondary data I utilized various sources like newspaper articles, journals, books on information technologies. The acquired knowledge helped me through the analytical part of the research. The collected data had to be utilized well therefore a well structure research design was necessary for me to develop. The secondary sources of data majorly depends on the extensive literature review on my chosen subject matter that is cloud computin g. The various theories on cloud computing guided me to the intended research direction. As the chosen subject deals with broad scope of hypothesis the research proposal faced few limitations too. Various organizations possess various location, size or operations, so while considering all of these building an effective relationship among variables was difficult. The another problem I faced during the research was the issues related to intellectual property rights, as I was unsure which data I am allowed to use. I started the research by mid of September and plan to finish the complete research by the end of January. Conclusion It was not surprising for me to find the rapidly increasing popularity of cloud computing in various organizations. However at the same time I highly doubt that cloud computing can gain success in such businesses that deal with less information. The exhaustive research on the advantages and disadvantages might open up new possibilities for me and the future researchers as well. As I mentioned the disadvantages of cloud computing is yet to be explored which I will try to focus on throughout the research as much as possible. If I will be able to cover up the literature and research gaps effectively the businesses can borrow the findings for developing business decisions related to the adoption of cloud computing.
